About

ZBIGNIEW JANKOWSKI

(born 1959 Szczecin/Poland) – economist, expert in shipping, ship managment and operations, chartering broker, logistics advisor, entrepreneur, trader, adviser, analyst, organisation and management specialist.

Brought up in Nigeria, Denmark and Poland. Master Degree in economics. Studied Economics of Maritime Transport at the Szczecin University of Technology. Worked for: Polish Steamship Company (worldwide maritime transport of bulk cargoes), Blue Sky Carrier Ltd (aviation company operating in Poland, Tanzania, Kenya), Interchem Ltd (gas and raw materials trader), Termofracht Ltd & Transocean S.A. (global sea transport and trader in frozen and chilled goods). Currently: since 1998, proprietor – own company Sea Land Air S.C. (intermediation in the organisation of maritime transport and other advisory services in raw materials trading) Speaks: polish and english. Lives in Poland, married, member of Rotary International Club.

History

• 01 April 1998 – SLA started it’s operations. The company was established by Zbigniew Jankowski – who in that moment had 14 years of previous experience in chartering ships and management of shipping (bulk & reefer) and aviation companies. The main purpose was to mediate / develop broker services for bulk transport of cargoes in/out from Baltic and North Sea, dedicated mainly for vessels between 1000-13000 dwt.
• since 1999 – as broker, the company entered and began to fix it’s first handy size vessels in the Atlantic and Pacific region,
• since 2007 – the company started creating it’s own market analytic tool for coaster vessels enabling it to forecast the trend and future freights for coaster and up to handy size vessels operating in the region around Europe and on particular routes in the Atlantic and for the periods for up to 12 months forward.
• since 2017 – the company is involved in optimising brokerage and trading of various bulk commodities,
•  since 2017 – the company is active in field of coaching, consulting, advising, organisation and management, lecturing and practical training in improving shipping & trading skills.
